Mentor - Those looking for fun and beach time at Headlands Beach State Park are going to be a bit dissapointed this year.
The City of Mentor has announced that Headlands BeachFest has been cancelled. The decision reportedly made after the city consulted with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Both sides determined the beach and parking lot conditions were not suitable to host the event. Rising waters had led to some flooding for part of the State Park, but the city originally stated they hoped to keep the event going.
BeachFest is set to return however in 2020.
