Avon Lake, Ohio,6/7/2019 – Avon Lake Police Department was informed on Friday that the 66 year old male cyclist has died, succumbing to the injuries he sustained from the accident on 06/06/19.
Sharan A. Carr, a 64 year old resident from Sheffield Lake, has been formally charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Hit Skip, Reasonable Control, and Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI).
The Avon Lake Police Department will not be releasing the victim’s name as a courtesy to family members who have yet to be notified. We would however like to express our sincere heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family members for their tragic loss.
6/6/2019 Original Release Avon Lake, Ohio, 6/6/2019 - 2145hrs - The Avon Lake Police Department responded to an accident involving a car and a bike on Lake Road near the Sheffield Lake border. Initial information revealed a cyclist was struck by a vehicle on Lake Road just west of Miller Road and the involved vehicle continued westbound in to Sheffield Lake.
