Rocky River Police Blotter: Spider Causes Traffic Hazard

On 05/22/2019 at about 1:15 AM police came upon a Ford Fusion stopped in the right travel lane on Interstate 90 east bound at Hilliard Blvd. causing a traffic hazard. The driver was located outside the vehicle and reported that a spider in the vehicle scared him so he stopped and got out. The driver, 31-year-old Terrance Vonne Bibbs from Cleveland, was determined to have a suspended drivers license. The vehicle was impounded. 

On 05/25/2019 at about 6:15 PM police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Westway Dr. between Detroit and Wagar Rds. The driver of one of the vehicles involved, 31-year-old Esperanza Correa of Cleveland, presented indicators of alcohol impairment and was cited for drunk driving.

On 05/25/2019 at about 8:55 PM police were called to investigate a protection order violation at 2938 Lakeview Ave. The suspect arrived at the home of the complainant/victim and fled after discovering police were there. The suspect vehicle collided with a Rocky River police car while still in Rocky River and later crashed into a pole on West Blvd. before he was apprehended after a foot pursuit. There were no injuries.

37-year-old Jesse Benovic from Cleveland was charged with felonious assault, fleeing, unlawful possession of weapons, violating a protection order, and several traffic offenses.
