Violent Fugitive Caught In Bedford

Bedford - Bedford Police had their hands full in a chase Sunday morning.

Officers were contacted at 7:26 a.m. by agents from City Bail Bonds informing them they were in the area attempting to apprehend a violent fugitive felon.

At 9:36 a.m. they received a call of shots fired from 97 Solon Road. Responding officers arrived and located the agents from City Bail Bonds rendering first aid to the suspect, 27-year-old Charles Jones-Hill. Hill was wanted for two felony weapons violations. He has a lengthy criminal history including Kidnapping, Robbery, Burglary, Drug and weapons offenses.

Investigating Officers learned that Hill jumped out of a second story window to evade the agents. He landed on one of them that was on the perimeter. A struggled ensued and Hills attempted to disarm the Agent. During the struggle for the agents gun one round was discharged, no one was struck at this point. A round was then fired by a second agent from Hills apartment, in defense of the agent on the ground. Hills was struck once in the lower back. He was transported to Metro for treatment and is expected to recover.

The names of the Recovery agents are not being released pending investigation.
