Elyria Police, FBI Execute Drug Bust

Elyria - Three people are in jail following a major drug bust in Elyria.

Thursday, detectives from the Elyria Police Departments Narcotics Unit and Investigative Unit, along with an agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Cleveland Office), executed a search warrant at 135 Woodridge Drive. As a result of the search warrant, 37-year-old Nicholas Wittcop, 30-year-old Tara Abbe and 57-year-old William Frederick were all arrested and booked into the Lorain County Jail.

During the course of the search; detectives located cocaine, Fentanyl, numerous new and used hypodermic needles, misc. prescription pills, multiple scales and cash.

Wittcop, who admitted to officers he sold crack cocaine and heroin out of the home, faces the most charges. Those include possession and trafficking of cocaine, possession and trafficking of fentanyl and possessing criminal tools.

Abbe faces drug trafficking and possessing drug abuse instruments, while Frederick faces a charge of permitting drug abuse.

Frederick admitted to detectives that he allowed Wittcop to sell illegal narcotics from the residence, and added that he purchased heroin from Wittcop to support his Abbe’s addiction.

All three suspects are being held pending until an appearance in court; or the posting of bond.
