PHOENIX--As the Cavs continue their season-ending west coast trip, their efforts continues to fall short as they lose their sixth straight game overall and ninth on the road, tonight against the Phoenix Suns 122-113.
As Mike Snyder mentioned above, Collin Sexton has scored 20 or more points in 12 of the last 13 points (21 points vs Suns). But it was the Suns led by Devin Booker with 25 points that ran away with this game despite the closeness of the final score. Suns outscored the Cavs 71-52 in the first half and Cleveland was in catch-up mode the rest of the game.
The Suns rookie Mikal Bridges also set a team-record:
Cavs' Channing Frye who is retiring at the end of the season was honored by his hometown team during the game.
Besides Sexton, Clarkson had 20 points. Kevin Love missed his second consecutive game with a shoulder injury.
NBA Draft Lottery Race--With the result of this game, the Suns (18-60) and Cavs (19-59) have the second and third worst record in the NBA. Along with the Knicks, the Suns and Cavs will have an equal shot of the #1 draft pick at 14% (should each team maintain the three worst records in the NBA). Of course many believe the team with the top pick will select Duke Superstar Zion Williamson especially with Duke's season ending in the NCAA Tournament against Michigan State in the Elite 8.
Cavs will continue their west coast swing Wednesday night in Sacramento while the Suns will host the Utah Jazz.
