(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Cleveland Indians are set to begin the defense of their American League Central Division title. The Tribe will open the 2019 season Thursday afternoon against the Minnesota Twins with Corey Kluber on the mound. First pitch at Target Field in Minneapolis is scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
Coverage on WTAM 1100 AM and 106.9 FM begins with Tribe Insider at 3 p.m.
Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor will not be available for the season opener after a snag in his recovery from a calf injury. Lindor suffered a serious ankle sprain during a minor league game Tuesday, putting the timetable for his return to the Tribe's lineup on hold. Lindor was expected to miss the first week of the season with the calf injury suffered before spring training.
