New Dave's Market in Midtown opens Wednesday

Cleveland - Dave's Markets is opening a new store next Wednesday in Cleveland's Midtown neighborhood.

The newly built Dave's Market and Eatery opens Wednesday, February 27 on East 61st and Chester Avenue, not far from University Circle, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local government leaders at 10:00AM.

Owner Aaron Saltzman of Dave's Markets says they developed the idea of the new store and eatery when they were looking for ways to upgrade their aging store near E. 33rd on Payne Avenue.

In a news release, Mr. Saltzman explained that the new store could still serve the customer base in the area, whiule providing better access to public transportation, improved parking and the ability to cater to many new customers.

Saltzman also cited public and private financing mechanisms that helped make the new store possible.

The store will feature a pharmacy, a First Federal of Lakewood bank branch come spring, a state liquor agency, and even a teaching kitchen.

The teaching kitchen is available for organizations and the general public to host classes and events on the benefits of healthy eating.

And there will be a food court style eatery, featuring sushi, galafel and Japanese cuisine and hibachi, along with toasted subs, hot dogs and burgers off the grill, as well as fried chicken, soup and salad bar.

The new store will be open daily from 7:00AM until 9:00PM.

According to media reports, the Payne Avenue location is set to close its doors on Sunday.
