Russo Corruption Jail Sentence Reduced

(Akron) - The disgraced former Auditor for Cuyahoga County had his prison sentence reduced Thursday, in federal court.

Frank Russo was initially sentenced to 22 years. Now, that sentence has been reduced to 14 years. Russo has over five years time served.

Russo had made a deal with the prosecutor's office to have his sentenced reduced, in exchange for his testimony against former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, as well as others. Thursday's ruling appears to be the prosecution keeping their end of the deal, as Russo had already been sentenced to the 22 years when he made the informal testimony arrangement.

Dimora was later sentenced to 28 years for running a criminal enterprise while in office.
