Browns Sign Controversial RB Kareem Hunt

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Browns Monday afternoon announced the free agent signing of controversial Running Back Kareem Hunt.

Hunt is a product of Willoughby South High School and the University of Toledo. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, who cut him from their roster last season, after TMZ.com published a surveillance video from the 'Metropolitan at the 9' hotel in downtown Cleveland, which showed Hunt assaulting a woman.

He was never charged with a crime, but likely faces a long suspension from the N.F.L.

Browns General Manager John Dorsey said, in a statement released Monday, that the team did its due diligence in screening Hunt for character issues, and that Hunt takes full responsibility for his actions at the hotel on the night in question.
