Nine-Year-Old Dead After Two Car Crash In Mentor

Mentor - One child is dead, while another and the adult driver of a car are in critical condition following a crash early Friday morning off I-90 West in Mentor.

Mentor Police Department and Fire responded to a two-car injury accident on I-90 westbound between SR306 and SR615 a little before 12:30am. A 2008 Chevy, driven by a 37 year old female, was struck by a semi-truck. The impact pushed the Chevy down an embankment. There were 3 passengers in the Chevy. 

The driver of the Chevy is in critical condition. A six-year old passenger is in critical condition as well. 

A nine-year old passenger succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

I-90 westbound was closed for approximately 4 hours while the accident was being investigated. No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
