Northeast Ohio Celebrating MLK Day

OHIO -

Northeast Ohioans will honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Junior today.  Several events are scheduled around the themes of education, service and remembrance.  Commemoration programs will be held at the Cleveland Public Library's main branch at 1 p.m. and at Severance Hall at 7 p.m.  Many museums will offer free admission today, including University Circle institutions and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Also, enjoy free admission at the Akron Zoo. The Akron chapter of the NAACP will be on site with fun activities.

Spend the day under the sea at the Cleveland Aquarium's Discount Day. A $1 donation gets you just a $10 ticket admission and access to some MLK fun, including a "Search for Greatness" scavenger hunt as the aquarium teaches guests about African-Americans who have had an influence on marine science.
