Lorain - Lorain County has upgraded to a Level 2 snow emergency, as a "significant" winter storm spreads throughout much of the nation, and is expected to dump five to nine inches of snow on northern Ohio before all is said and done.
A statement issued Saturday explained what a Level 2 emergency means.
"Roadways are very hazardous, with blowing and drifting snow.
Travel should only be attempted if absolutely necessary.
Curtail your driving until the current weather situation improves."
Several other counties, including Huron (Level 3) and Medina (Level 2) have declared snow emergencies.
Meanwhile, it's reported that there are over 1100 ODOT crews plowing and salting roads throughout the state.
