DENVER, CO -- In the finale of a six game road trip, the Cavaliers looked to snap a two-game losing streak as they faced off against the red hot Denver Nuggets. Throughout the first quarter, the Cavs were able to hang around, as they trailed the Nuggets by 12 points after one. Denver found a rhythm in the second quarter and the Cavaliers did not have an answer. The Nuggets lit up the Cavs for 33 points in the second quarter, as they headed to the locker room up by 24 at half.
The Cavaliers' struggles continued into the second, as they were unable to get back into the game. Led by Nikola Jokic, who recorded his 6th triple-double of the season, the Nuggets cruised in the second half, beating the Cavaliers 124-102. Nuggets guard Jamal Murray led all scorers with 26 points.
Cavaliers center Ante Zizic scored a career-high 23 points, as he was scoring with ease. Rookie point guard Collin Sexton had a rather quiet night, scoring only 10 points on 4-13 shooting. Jordan Clarkson pitched in 13 points off of the bench.
The Cavaliers will head back home as they will get ready for a matchup versus the Chicago Bulls on Monday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM ET for a special Martin Luther King Day edition of NBA basketball.
