Four people have died from the flu in Medina County so far this season.
While no details about those deaths have been released, the Medina County Health Department reports that 395 people suffering from flu-like symptoms have made their way to locals hospitals so far this season, resulting in 12 hospitalizations.
The most recent data indicates that 80 patients visited emergency rooms during the week of December 23rd, which is an increase of 30 patients from the week before.
Doctors say people should wash their hands to prevent infection and that anyone who is able should get a flu shot.Flu symptoms include cough, fever and sore throat. The season starts in October and peaks in winter months.
