Marshals capture suspected felon in E. Cleveland

(Cleveland) - U.S. Marshals have arrested Maylon Sims, 18, who was wanted by the Cleveland Heights Police Department for aggravated robbery, felonious assault, and receiving stolen property.

On December 12 detective contend, Sims was allegedly  involved in an attempted vehicle theft that resulted in an associate of his being shot. There were four total parties involved that arrived at a gas station near the 2600 Block of Noble Road in a stolen vehicle when one occupant attempted to steal a Ford Fiesta.

According to investigators, the owner of Ford Fiesta shot at Sim’s and his associates attempting to steal the car, and struck one of the males. Sims, who was supposedly operating the stolen vehicle fled the gas station and transported his wounded associate to the hospital, and then fled the hospital in the stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later found torched in East Cleveland.

Members of the Cleveland Division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Sims this morning near the 4700 Block of Country Lane, Cleveland. Agents say Sims attempted to barricade himself in a bedroom on the second floor. Sims was eventually safely taken into custody without incident.
