Solon Police Blotter: January 4th

Solon -

 OVI, Cannon Road:  December 29th 2:00 a.m.  Dmitry Petrov, 23 of Mayfield, was arrested after being stopped on Cannon Road for driving left of center.  The officer observed indications that the driver was impaired, which was confirmed by field sobriety tests and Petrov was arrested and taken to jail where he submitted to a breath test with a result of .175.  He is charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, and Left of Center.

OVI, US 422:  December 29th 3:00 a.m.  Officers responded to a crash on US 422 and, while enroute, received an update that a female caller had notified dispatch that her boyfriend was intoxicated and had been driving the vehicle which had caused the crash, and that he was now trying to walk away.  Officers found Dandre Young, 26 of Cleveland, and observed that he appeared impaired, which was confirmed by field sobriety tests.  Young was arrested and taken to jail where he submitted to a breath test with a result of .202.  Young was charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, and Failure to Control; there were no injuries.

OVI, Bainbridge Road:  December 30th 8:31 p.m.  Kathleen Scott, 62 of Cleveland, was arrested after she was stopped for making an improper right turn onto Solon Road.  Officers observed indications of impairment and confirmed this through filed sobriety tests.  Scott was arrested and taken to jail where she submitted to a breath test with a result of .198.  Scott is charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, and Improper Turn.    

Disorderly Conduct, Springhill Suites:  December 31st 8:48 p.m.   Officers responded to Springhill Suites for unwanted guests.  Upon arrival, the assistant manager described a guest who had been giving her a hard time all day and she had refunded his room and wanted those guests in that room to leave.  Officers encountered a male and female guest in the room in question, and escorted them out as they made their way to the Hampton Inn.  The female was very intoxicated and belligerent, and was warned that if her behavior did not stop she would be arrested.  As the officer drove away he could again here the female screaming obscenities at the male as they walked to the Hampton Inn.  Melissa Yager, 46 of Columbus, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Using Weapon while Intoxicated, Overland Lane:  January 1st 2:41 a.m.  Officers responded to Overland Lane for a male waving a gun.  Upon arriving the officers confronted three males around a vehicle and, after speaking with them, learned that one of the males had retrieved a gun from the vehicle’s glove box and was waiving it around.  The suspect Andrew Anderson, 24 of Cleveland, was extremely intoxicated and had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend, which apparently precipitated him retrieving the gun from the car. Anderson was arrested and charged with Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle (misdemeanor) and Using a Weapon while Intoxicated (felony).

Assault, CVS Care Mark:  January 1st 11:11 a.m.  Officers were dispatched to 29300 Aurora Road for an assault.  Apparently there was a struggle between a female employee and her ex-boyfriend over car keys.  During the struggle the ex-boyfriend scratched, choked, and attempted to drag the female to the ground, causing minor injuries.  Demont Harris, 33 of Bedford Heights, was arrested and charged with Assault.
