Fugitive Of The Week: Randy Fitzgerald

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Randy Fitzgerald. 

Fitzgerald is wanted by the United States Marshals Service and the Akron Police Department for weapons under disability. On May 20, 2018, three children ages 8, 9, and 14 were left alone near the 1200 Block of Marcy Street, Akron, with a firearm believed to belong to Fitzgerald. The children found the gun and one of the children was shot in the stomach. A search warrant following discovered 2 handguns, drugs and body armor. The child who was shot did not succumb to the injuries.

Fitzgerald, 33, is a black male, standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 155 pounds. His last known address is near the 350 Block Fernwood Drive, Akron. Fitzgerald should be considered armed and dangerous.

Update:

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Randy Fitzgerald on a traffic stop on Route 8 in Macedonia. The task force was assisted by officers from Boston Heights, the Summit Count Sheriff's Office and the Macedonia Police Department. Although several tips were submitted on this case, the arrest was not a result of a tip.
