(MAYFIELD HEIGHTS) She wanted to help others this Christmas. Tragically, eight-year-old Olivia Schneider won't live to celebrate this holiday season but her legacy will live on.
The girls father, Kurt Schneider, has organized a toy drive in his daughter's memory, called Olivia's Dream. The toys will go to Toys for Tots. Kurt also wants to set up a non-profit in Olivia's name.
The Lander Elementary School third grader died in a house fire November 20th after her mother, 41-year-old Rebecca Pletnewski, was stabbed to death at their Mayfield Heights home. Mayfield Heights police say the home was intentionally set on fire by her neighbor to cover the crime and Olivia died of smoke inhalation.
Twenty-seven year Dominique Swopes has a pre-trial for December 10th. He’s currently being held on $5 million bond.
