(Cuyahoga County) - A key figure in the county corruption probe is returning to a Cleveland courtroom.
Former Cuyahoga County auditor Frank Russo will be re-sentenced on January 3rd in federal court.
Russo is currently serving a 22 year stretch for taking more than a million dollars in bribes. The 68 year old convict is now hoping to get out of prison early, citing medical issues. Both sides are ordered to file sentencing memos by December 7th.
Russo began serving his time in November of 2012, at a prison facility in Massachusetts. He was a star witness in the 2012 trial against Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora, who is serving a 28-year sentence.
