(CLEVELAND) Two missing siblings who jumped from the car of their foster parent Tuesday night and ran away are safe.

Chasen Pierce, 11, and his sister, Jamielle Leftwich, 9, jumped out of the car just before 7 p.m. while it was stopped in traffic on Euclid Avenue in the Euclid-Green neighborhood on the East Side, police spokesman Det. Reginald Lanton says.

The children ran east on Euclid Avenue. The foster parent searched the area but was unable to find the children, according to Lanton.

Cleveland police tweeted the children were believed to have been with a family member overnight.
