(Cleveland, OH) -- Police departments across northeast Ohio will take unused prescription medications off people's hands this weekend. The annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Law enforcement agencies launched the program eight years ago to keep drugs out of landfills and the hands of potential abusers.
Police agencies are asking that only pills and capsules be dropped off, and they should be in plastic bags. Liquids and needles are not being accepted.
A list of drop-off sites is online.
