Cleveland school gets 1 million in cash

(Cuyahoga County) - Forget Mega-millions...Cleveland Central Catholic High School is cashing in with the receipt of an anonymous one million dollar unrestricted gift.

It is one of the largest personal outright gifts ever made to Cleveland Central Catholic. The contribution came from a graduate of the Class of 1971. It will be used as a "matching gift" to attract other new donations.

There's word the 1 million dollars is in gratitude for the support and encouragement the anonymous donor received from faculty and staff while a Cleveland Central Catholic student.

"We are thrilled to receive such a generous gift, and especially pleased to accept it from a CCC graduate," said CCC President Leo P. Hyland.  "We hope this gift will inspire others to step forward with support to match this investment in our school," Hyland added.
