Rocky River Police Blotter: September 25th

Rocky River - Below are items from the Rocky River Police Department from Tuesday, 09/18/2018 through Monday, 09/24/2018.

  •  On 09/20/2018 at about 11:00 PM staff at Fitworks 20001 Center Ridge Rd. reported a customer throwing items around the gym after becoming upset over losing his water bottle. The 58-year-old Rocky River man was not charged with a crime and left the gym for the day after being advised by staff that he behavior was unwelcome.


  • On 09/21/2018 at about 12:05 AM staff at Giant Eagle (22160 Center Ridge Rd.) reported a man unsuccessfully attempted to steal shrimp from the store before sitting outside drinking. When police arrived, the discovered 59-year-old Charles McQuilian of Rocky River sitting on a wood pile with an open container of beer. He also had several items that were taken from the store without paying. Mr. McQuilian was arrested for Disorderly Conduct While Intoxicated and Theft. He was booked and held until sober.


  • On 09/21/2018 at about 3:10 AM police stopped a car on Interstate 90 w/b at Hilliard Blvd. for a traffic and equipment violations. The officer detected indications of alcohol impairment and field tested the driver, 36-year-old Carolyn Bostic of Elyria, before arresting her for drunk driving.


  • On 09/23/2018 at about 6:45 PM police responded to Hampton Rd. near Riverview after a caller reported a person passed out in a car there. Moments later, the caller reported the car was headed south on Hampton. Police stopped the car on Hampton Rd. near Telbir. The driver had a strong odor of alcohol and was unable to stand without supporting himself on the car. Gary Lee Matthews, a 21-year-old Rocky River man, was arrested for drunk driving.
