(Akron) - The Akron City Council is considering a change in city law that could potentially send the owners of dogs cited for excessive barking within the city to jail for up to 30 days.
The measure is being sponsored by Councilman Russ Neal. If the change is approved by the council, the Excessive Barking charge would be upgraded to a fourth grade misdemeanor. The fine would increase from 100 to 250 dollars, and - at a judge's discretion - your dog's behavior could subject you to some crate training of your own.
