Two Teens Dead After Garfield Hts Shooting & Standoff

GARFIELD HEIGHTS - Two teens, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman are dead, after an apparent domestic violence situation.

Police arrived at the E. 86th Street home to find the teens lying in the driveway. Garfield Heights Police Chief Robert Bryne says the dead teens were the kids of the 29-year-old suspect's girlfriend, and that they all lived together in the home.

Neighbor Connie Allshouse told Channel 3 News the woman ran over to her home asking Allshouse to call police, saying "Call 911, Connie. He shot my babies, He shot my babies".

The 17-year-old was taken to Marymount hospital where he succumbed to his wounds, the 19-year-old passed away during surgery at MetroHealth.

The suspect is in custody; a crisis intervention officer and his own mother talked him into turning himself in after a nearly 4 hour standoff with police and SWAT. He's been charged with aggravated murder and additional charges are likely.
