Canton - The Canton Charge, powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, will open the 2018-19 season on a two-game road trip beginning on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:00 p.m. against the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks). The Charge annual 5K Race and Home Opener will begin the season in Canton on Saturday, Nov. 10, with the race through downtown Canton beginning at 9:00 AM and tip-off that evening vs. the Erie BayHawks (Atlanta Hawks) at 7:00 PM.
“We can't wait to get our eighth season in Canton started and to continue bringing exciting, high level basketball and entertainment to Charge Nation," said Charge Chief Operating Officer Mike Levy. "Both on and off the court, we expect to take our great connection with the the Cavaliers to a new level."
For the second consecutive season, the Charge will play a regular season game at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2:00 p.m. against the Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls). Canton fans will get the world class game entertainment experience at The Q while watching the Charge take on the Central Division rival Bulls. Charge Nation will be able to enjoy perennial favorite promotions like Cavs Night and Wine & Gold themed giveaways, Military Appreciation Night, Youth Basketball Night, School Day, Family Days, Fan Appreciation Night and much more. Dollar Dog Nights presented by Sugardale, Friday postgame free throws and Saturday postgame autographs are also returning this season. Canton will play 14 of their 24 home games on weekends, with January featuring the most home games (6). Canton will play 16 games against Central Division opponents (8 home, 8 road) and face off against four opponents making their first visit to Canton (Capital City Go-Go, Stockton Kings, Northern Arizona Suns, Agua Caliente Clippers). The Charge will play in two more NBA arenas when they take the floor at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA to take on the Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers) Tuesday, Nov. 20 and in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday, Mar. 14th at the Scotiabank Arena, home of the NBA's Toronto Raptors.
The regular season ends on Saturday, March 23, and the 2019 NBA G League postseason will begin no earlier than Tuesday, March 26. Each NBA G League team will play 24 home games and 24 road games and an additional two games at the annual NBA G League Winter Showcase. Location and dates for the Showcase games will be announced at a later date.
