Solon Police Blotter: OVI Arrests

OVI, US 422:  August 16th 10:33 p.m.  Andrew Wilkins, 28 of Cleveland, was arrested after he was stopped for speed and weaving and, upon approaching the car, Wilkins exhibited indications that he was impaired.  Field sobriety tests supported this observation and he was arrested and taken to jail where he submitted to a breath test with a result of .173.  Wilkins is charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, Speed, and Driving in Marked Lanes. 

OVI, US 422:  August 18th 2:28 a.m.  Tony Blair, 37 of Richmond Heights, was stopped for failing to maintain his lane.  The officer noticed that his eyes were red and glassy, and there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Blair was arrested for OVI and taken to jail, where he submitted to a urine test, which was sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol lab for analysis.  Blair is charged with OVI, Driving in Marked Lanes, and Having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. 

OVI, Aurora Road:  August 18th 11:49 p.m.  Brian Miller was stopped for speed and, when the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed that Miller, the driver, appeared to be impaired. Field sobriety tests confirmed this observation and he was arrested and taken to jail where he refused to submit to a breath test.  Additionally, Miller had his juvenile son in the car with him, as well as an open bottle of alcohol.  Miller is charged with OVI, Speed, No Seatbelt, and Endangering Children.

Theft, Great Lakes Cold Storage:  August 20th 2:17 p.m.  A 21 year old Bedford man, who is a former employee of Great Lakes Cold Storage at 6531 Cochran Road, was terminated on August 10th and has refused to return company equipment valued at $2038.08.  An arrest warrant has been issued for Ayvree Spratley for felony Theft.

OVI, US 422:  August 21st 9:34 p.m.  Kelvin Mathis, 33 of Cleveland, was arrested after being stopped for driving 78 mph in a 60 mph zone.  The officer observed an odor of marijuana upon approaching the car, and noticed loose marijuana on his shirt.  Field sobriety tests indicated that Mathis was impaired and he was arrested and taken to jail where he submitted to a breath test with a result of .000.  He additionally submitted a urine sample which was sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lab for exam.  Mathis is charged with OVI, Speed, and No Seatbelt.
