Lakewood Bank Robbed

Lakewood - A bank robber is in custody after trying to make an apparent RTA getaway.

Lakewood Police say 46-year-old Ahmed Mohammed Khafaga entered the Fifth Third Bank at 1616 West 117th Street around 9:54am Thursday morning with no weapons, but just a bag and a note. The note read "put $100 bills in the bag". The teller involved obliged, and Khafaga then left the bank.

After speaking with employees at the bank, Khafaga was found a short time after at the West 117th and Madison RTA station.

He is charged with robbery, and is being held on  $10,000 bond.
