Indians Clobber Tigers, 8-1

(Detroit, MI)  --  Yonder Alonso had three hits and three RBI as the Indians clobbered the Tigers 8-1 in Detroit.  Alonso, Edwin Encarnacion, and Melky Cabrera homered to back a strong outing from Corey Kluber.  Kluber tossed seven-and-a-third innings of one-run ball to earn the win.

Cleveland has won three-of-four and improved to 57-and-47 overall.

Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann surrendered five runs across three innings of work to take the loss.  Nicholas Castellanos drove in the lone Detroit run with a groundout in the first.  The Tigers have alternated wins and losses over their last 10 games.

The Indians wrap up the road trip with three games in Minnesota against the second-place Twins.  Monday night, Shane Bieber gets the start for the Tribe, and Ervin Santana for the Twins.  First pitch at 8:10 p.m. on WTAM 1100 and 100.7 WMMS.
