Brantley Plays Role In AL's All-Star Win

(Washington) - Indians outfielder Michael Brantley contributed to the American League's All-Star Game win on Tuesday night.  Brantley went 1-for-2 with a sac fly in the bottom of the tenth inning.

The American League beat the National League 8-6 in a ten-inning slugfest in which a record 10 home runs were hit.

Catcher Yan Gomes went 0-for-three with two strikeouts, while shortstop Francisco Lindor was hitless in his one at-bat.  Starting third baseman Jose Ramirez went 0-for-two at the plate.

Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer were both on the AL squad, but neither of them pitched.

The Indians resume the season Friday night in Texas as they begin a three-game series against the Rangers, before a three-game homestand next week hosting the NL's Pittsburgh Pirates.
