PETA Offering $5K Reward After Cat Tortured With Fireworks

MANSFIELD - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of whoever was responsible for torturing a cat with fireworks.

The Richland County Humane Society is offering its own reward, which was more than $2,000 as of Thursday. That money would be combined with PETA's reward.

On Monday, July 9, the residents of a Mansfield apartment complex made a horrifying discovery:

Someone had detonated - a firecracker inside the rectum of "KATY P" a 2-year-old tabby.

Anyone with information about this case should contact the Humane Society of Richland County at 419-774-4795.
