(SANDUSKY) The Festival of Sail Sandusky is similar to many events celebrating summer by the water -- it features six ships to tour, cruises on Lake Erie, music, food, beer, even mermaids. But, perhaps the biggest draw is six stories tall, inflatable, and yellow.

"When you see it on the waterfront, it basically towers over every building in downtown ," says Ryan Whaley, one of the co-owners of the world's largest inflatable rubber duck. "It just sits there and make people smile. It is unbelievable how big the thing is."

The duck made its debut in 2014 at a Los Angeles event and it became so popular, the duck now tours the world. Inflatable Images in Brunswick constructed the 60-foot inflatable and it spends the off season at Barnes Nursery in Huron.

The Festival of Sail Sandusky starts Thursday from 11:00 to 7:00  and goes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00.
