Mansfield Cat Abused With Firecracker

RICHLAND COUNTY - "We have no words..." That's how an agent with the Richland County Humane Society put it, as they care for a Mansfield cat who was abused with a firecracker.

The cat, named "Katy P" was brought in by her owner Monday, after an unknown individual set off a firecracker in the cat's rectum. The incident took place at the Pine Bridge Apartment complex on East Cook Road.

A post on the Society's Facebook page says "...She made it through surgery and has a guarded prognosis."

If you would like to donate to her care, you can visit  www.adoptourstrays.com.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Richland County Sheriff's Office.
