MASSILLON - The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports, a Massillon man is dead after a motorcycle crash this weekend.
Troopers say 29-year-old Chauncy Townes was not wearing a helmet Saturday night when he was struck while travelling eastbound on Hills and Dales Road. 26-year-old Rebekah Owen, driving a Chevy Cruze, westbound, began turning into an apartment complex when she failed to yield to the motorcycle.
Townes was transported to Mercy Hospital, with life threatening injuries, where he later died.
The accident remain under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
