Cleveland - The search for a missing 13-year-old boy who was last seen swimming at Edgewater Beach around 8:30PM Friday is over. The body of Shaud Howell was found in waters off the beach late Sunday afternoon.
Metroparks leaders say the search used divers, sonar technology, and helicopters from the Cleveland Police and the U.S. Coast Guard.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Parks system announced that the beach and surrounding swim area were thoroughly searched, and that "teams will continue their efforts through shore and boat based sonar searches.
Edgewater Beach swim area was closed after Shaud went missing on Friday, but it reopened for public use on Saturday. Lifeguards are on duty daily 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. beginning the first Saturday in June through second Sunday in August and then weekends only through Labor Day.
