Tribe Tops Twins And Avoid Sweep

(Cleveland, OH)  --  Yan Gomes clubbed a three-run double as the Indians topped the Twins 4-1 in Cleveland.  

Tyler Naquin plated the other run for the Tribe, which avoided a three-game sweep.  Shane Bieber pitched into the sixth inning for his first win.  Cody Allen closed it out for his 14th save.  

Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-4 with the lone RBI for Minnesota, which finished 3-and-3 on its road trip.  Jake Odorizzi fell to 3-and-4 with the loss.

The Indians are two-and-a-half games in front of second-place Detroit.

The homestand continues as the White Sox come to Progressive Field Monday night for the first of three.  Trevor Bauer starts Monday for the Tribe, and Dylan Covey for Chicago.  First pitch at 7:10 p.m.  Hear the game on WTAM 1100 and 100.7 WMMS.
