Indians Hold Off Brewers

By Ron Schwane

(Cleveland, OH)  --  Corey Kluber was lights out again as the Indians topped the Brewers 3-2 to open a two-game series at Progressive Field.  He improved to 9-and-1, holding Milwaukee to one run and striking out seven over seven innings.

Cleveland's ace lowered his ERA to 1.96 as the Tribe snapped a three-game skid.  Cody Allen earned his 10th save despite allowing a solo homer to Travis Shaw in the ninth.  Lonnie Chisenhall had a two-run single and Jose Ramirez connected for a solo shot in the victory.

Junior Guerra took the loss.  Milwaukee has lost three of its last four games.

The series, and the short homestand concludes Wednesday afternoon.  Carlos Carrasco starts for the Tribe, and Chase Aderson for the Brewers.  First pitch at 1:10 p.m. on WTAM 1100.
