(Cuyahoga County) - A number of residents remain displaced after a blaze ripped through 12 units in a condominium complex in Broadview Heights. The fire erupted in the 86-hundred block of Scenicview Drive this morning.
Some neighbors say they heard a loud boom, and then saw flames coming from the building.
Fire Chief Jeffrey Hajek tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, when his crews arrived, the lower floor was fully engulfed with flames leaping from the roof.
Hajek says no residents were inside during the fire. One firefighter was transported to the hospital after part of a ceiling fell on him. He's expected to be alright.
Hajek speculates it may take a month to determine the cause. A damage estimate is still being calculated.
