Indians Avoid Sweep By Blanking Tigers

(Detroit, MI)  --  Trevor Bauer fired eight shutout innings as the Indians blanked the Tigers 6-0 at Comerica Park.  Bauer struck out 10 while giving up four hits and no walks as he evened his record at 3-and-3.  

Michael Brantley went 3-for-5 with a solo homer for the Tribe, which avoided a three-game sweep.  Francisco Lindor, Erik Gonzalez and Jason Kipnis all plated a run and scored in the victory.  

Ryan Carpenter was tagged for six runs, five earned, in five frames to suffer his first loss.  The Tigers had won their previous three.

The Indians are off Thursday.  Friday night, they begin a three-game series in Houston.  First pitch at 8:10 p.m.  Hear the game on WTAM 1100 and 100.7 WMMS.
