It was a thrill of a comeback before it became the agony of a walkoff as the Cleveland Indians fell to the New York Yankees in game 1 of their weekend series 7-6.

Down 5 in the eighth thanks to Yankee home runs by Gleyber Torres, Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez, the Indians stormed back to tie the game in the eighth.

Bradley Zimmer smashed a three run homer to center that scored Yan Gomes and Rajai Davis to make it 5-3. This was followed by a Jose Ramirez home run that scored Jason Kipnis to tie the game at 5. However on Aaron Judge Jedi Star Warsbobblehead night at Yankee Stadium, Judge responded with a walk on a two out full-count pitch from Alexi Ogando who was called up from Columbus on Friday. This allowed Miguel Andujar to score and the Yankees took a 6-5 lead heading into the nineth.

The Indians tied the game again with a two-out wild pitch by Aroldis Chapman leading to a Yan Gomes score.

However it was Andujar who had the last say on Friday night with a two out-RBI single to right field off Cody Allen to walk-off for the Yankees.

Indians and Yankees will face off for game two of this series on Saturday Afternoon. Trevor Bauer (2-2, 2.45 ERA) who struck out 11 against Texas in his last outing will face Sonny Gray (1-2, 6.67) who in his last start pitched six innings (tied-season best) against Houston. Indians look to tie the series whil the Yankees look to claim their 14th victory in 15 games.
