(Cleveland) -- Several northeast Ohio school districts are struggling to get answers from a tour operator that abruptly canceled a trip for Mentor students. Officials in several communities told parents yesterday they've been unable to reach Discovery Tours with concerns about field trips to Washington, D.C. The Mayfield Village company went silent after canceling the Mentor schools' trip this week and blamed their hotel partner. The D.C.-area hotel's manager says they never received payment from the company.
