Former Cleveland Leader Hit With Ethics Charges

(Cleveland) - Former Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman is facing dozens of charges related to an ethics investigation.

Cimperman represented Cleveland's Ward-3 for 18 years before resigning in 2016 and is facing 26 ethics charges, all misdemeanors, for having alleged unlawful interest in public contracts.

In a statement released to our partners at WKYC TV-3, Cimperman says he has reached an agreement with the state of Ohio and will not contest the charges which date back to 2002.

Cimperman goes on to say he accepts full responsibility for his actions and apologizes to anyone who may have been impacted by this.
