CLEVELAND - Downtown Cleveland's iconic "sax man", Maurice Reedus Jr., has passed away.

Joe Siebert, who directed a documentary about Reedus in 2013, confirmed the news to our news partner WKYC Monday afternoon, saying it's believed he passed in his sleep.

If you've been to an Indians or Cavaliers game, you very likely encountered him or, at least, you've heard him.  Reedus was known to play his saxophone in the Gateway District after Tribe games and events at Quicken Loans Arena.

Siebert directed "Sax Man," the documentary that explained the life of Reedus beyond his nights spent sitting along Prospect Avenue, where he would serenade fans with the Spiderman theme song after games.
