Cuyahoga County - Tuesday marked the start of early voting for the May 8 Primary Election. In Cuyahoga County, one out of every three ballots is cast by mail. 30,000 vote by mail ballots were sent to the Post Office. Cuyahoga County Board of Elections Director Pat McDonald said the first delivery of ballots represents over one-third of all the vote by mail requests anticipated for this election.

As of Monday, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has approximately 24,000 Democratic requests compared to 18,000 at this point in time in 2014. They've received about 4,000 Republican requests compared to 7,000 in 2014, the last time Ohio elected a governor.
