Kluber, Zimmer guide Indians over Tigers

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Indians opened their four-game series against the Detroit Tigers with a 2-0 victory at Progressive Field on Monday evening.

Corey Kluber pitched eight scoreless innings, only allowing two hits while striking out 13. The Tribe's only runs came in the fifth inning when Bradley Zimmer hit a 2-run homer run off Francisco Liriano.

The Indians continue their four-game series against the Tigers on Tuesday night at Progressive Field with the first pitch slated for 6:10 pm ET. Josh Tomlin gets the start for Cleveland, while lefty Matt Boyd goes for the Tigers.

This series is part of a 10-game home stand for the Indians.
