LeBron James will most likely not win the NBA MVP award, but his performance tonight continues to prove who is the best player in the NBA as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Brooklyn Nets 121-114. Cavs improve to 44-29. More importantly to some, the Nets fall to 23-51, one loss away from last place in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs own the Nets 2018 First Round pick.

But it was LeBron James who led the efforts for Cleveland as he made highlight plays in big moments of this game.

For the 10th time in his career, James reached 2,000 points in a season joining Michael Jordan and Karl Malone as the only players to accomplish the feat. Kevin Love was a strong number two for the Cavs as he had 20 points and 15 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson, George Hill, and Rodney Hood had 18, 17, and 16 points respectively.

The Cavs had to fight off former Cavalier Joe Harris who scored 30 points which was a career high for him. After the 100-99 mark which was the last Nets lead of the game, the Cavs ended the game on a 22-14 run including eight straight points to start the Cavs scoring run.

The Cavs are back on the floor in this road-trip as they head to Miami to face the Heat. Complete Cavaliers Coverage begins at 7pm on Newsradio WTAM 1100 with tipoff at 8pm. This will be the first of a back-to-back.
