Strongsville Adds Resource Officer To Middle School

STRONGSVILLE - Strongsville has announced they've added a School Resource Officer to Strongsville Middle School.

Officer Mike Mendise, begins his new role this week, as part of the school district's strategic plan to ensure the safety of students, teachers and staff at their facilities.

In a district statement, Cameron Ryba, Superintendent of Strongsville City Schools says the city and police department had been working for several months to bring a School Resource Office to the school.

The news comes just a day after a lone School Resource Officer's quick action stopped a Maryland school shooting from escalating.
