Girl Scout cookie distribution underway

Girl Scout cookie distribution in Valley View

(Cuyahoga County) - Girl Scout cookie season is gearing up with 2.5 million boxes being distributed this week to troop leaders in Valley View, Akron, Canton, Lorain, Mentor, Medina, Niles, Canfield, Olmsted Falls, Dover, Streetsboro, Ashtabula, and other Northeast Ohio locations.

At the distribution center in Valley View tractor trailer trucks filled with cookies were being unloaded.

Girl Scouts begin selling the cookies on March 9th, and will continue through March 25th.

There will be 6,000 troop run cookie booths at grocery stores, retailers, and other businesses.

Cookies cost $4 to $5 per package, and support Girl Scout operations and activities, including service project, camping, and educational trips.

To locate the nearest cookie booth in your neighborhood download the free Cookie Finder mobile app, or visit girlscoutcookies.org

Customers are urged to ask the girls what their goals are, as part of their financial literacy program.
