Akron Man Pleads Guilty To Raping Two Young Girls

AKRON - Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Anthony Long, 59, of Erie, Pennsylvania, pled guilty to raping two young family members over a five year period. Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Alison McCarty immediately sentenced Long to Life in Prison. Long will not be eligible for parole until after serving 20 years of his sentence. Long was also designated a Tier III sex offender, meaning if he is released from prison, he will have to register with the local sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.

Long pled guilty to two counts of rape (under 13) - felonies of the 1st degree. The victims were raised by Long and his wife. From 2010 to 2015, while living in Akron, Long sexually assaulted and raped the girls, who were ages eight and 13 at the time. Long moved to Erie, Pennsylvania in 2015 and was arrested last summer.
